Tires...

Tirecraft in Claresholm AB helped us tremendously with receiving the tires for us as the had done with our rims. Thank you very much!

Next task after the cleaning and painting of the rims was putting the tires on the rims. As I had the plan to put beadlocks in the tire, a way to be able to drive on airless tires without the danger of the tires running off the rims, I started with that...

Unfortunately, I couldn't get the rim closed. Somehow the beadlock was 3/4 inch too wide...

Then the interesting task to get it out...

With the frame, a 20 tons jack and a lot of sweat and efforts I finally got it done. The whole experience took me most of the day.

However, I am glad al those struggles happened now and not somewhere in the bush. Now I know what to take extra with me how to get it done.

At last I was able to get the rim closed without the beadlock and the day after I did the the tires and put them on the truck. Here another lucky point showed: The tires did fit the front axle without any adjustments necessary, except for the hood and backsite front fender.

Next will be a 4 inch flair to get the wheels "inside" the dimensions of the truck.

See you next blog.
