Update and wheels

At this moment the truck is at the body shop to get the rear door in the cabin made, as well as a little more space, we will add 6 inch to the back of the cabin. That will give us some more legroom. In the mean time we used the time to clean and paint the wheels as the tires are about to arrive as well.

The bolts from the 2 part rims were pretty stuck and rusted. Taking them off, cleaning them was the next step.

After cleaning them all up with ultra sound and wire wheel, I used chemicals to "Cold Blue" them to protect them for rusting again.

In the time the ultra sound was doing its job on most of the nuts I used one to "repair the tread of the rim bolts, used copper/metal grease and went through all the tread.

The rims could also use a bit of paint so we did do that next:

The temperature was dropping overnight so we had to finish it inside the toolshop.

I'll show the finished wheels when the tires are in and mounted.

See you next blog.
